The Story behind "StoryAnna"

Updated: Dec 26, 2020

I had to share with you where this name idea came from. It's short but very, no, no extremely sweet. Here it is:

It is a regular school day, the library packed with two classes of second grade students browsing the shelves and borrowing books. A lovely colleague and a good friend of mine approaches me and says: "I have something to share with you. You know, my son loves coming to the library and really enjoys story time." And, if you are a librarian you would know that I am melting at that point. "Awww, that is so sweet." But wait for it, there is more. Everywhere I have taught, people mispronounce my name but I am totally fine with it--especially when something great will come out of it. My colleague then adds: "You know, he can't pronounce your name and he calls you Ms. Storyanna. He was convinced that that is your actual name because you were reading stories." And so, remember a bit earlier I was melting because he loves the library and books, imagine how I felt now. That moment my heart grew bigger and I grew a few centimeters taller. My friend's son, a 5 year old boy just made my day.

A few days pass and I don't know about you but I always get ideas under the shower or while washing dishes: "Storyanna, that's the name for my blog!" Believe or not that was the trigger for me to finally start this blog. It is just too sweet to ignore it!

Thank you dear Malakai!
